The main benefits for this Association are:

  • To provide an organisation that can develop ideas and needs for the future of the Howlong Community.

  • To provide a representative group that can network with all levels of government.

  • To hold regular meetings that provide an opportunity for community input.

  • To assist local government with planning for the future of our Community.

The opportunity for interested persons to be involved was publicized in the August Grapevine and a small working group is now helping to get the Association up and running. As a result, a Public Meeting for community input will be held early 2021 (date yet to be determined).

A more detailed article will be published in the Grapevine and a leaflet drop will be undertaken prior to the Public Meeting, with the hope for a large attendance to exchange information and views that benefits Howlong and its people.

Welcome to the
Howlong Community Progress Association

We welcome you to share your ideas and vision for Howlong’s future needs - just click on the Contact tab to submit your thoughts or suggestions to our email.  Your feedback will be considered at a future committee meeting, and our aim is to ensure collaborative community input.

Having a direct conduit to Federation Council gives us leverage to put forward projects where we need its support.  The diverse skills of our committee members gives us the ability to liaise closely with our local government, and when necessary lobby our state or federal governments.

Seeking grant funds is always at the forefront of being able to complete projects that benefit our community, and this will be an ongoing pursuit for the association's committee.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and gather - the Bpangerang and Wiradjuri people.  We also acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who now reside in this area, and we extend that respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
